May 29: Gear Me Up!

We live in a world of electronics - cell phones, tablets, laptops and computers. Our life is contained on these devices and keeping them clean helps to maintain them.

The safest way to clean these electronics is to wipe them gently with a damp microfiber cloth. Use cotton swabs to get into crevices and the edges of the screen and buttons. If your device has a screen protector that doesn't have a coating, use an isopropyl-alcohol-and-water mixture with a microfiber cloth.

Electronics attract dust, dirt and fingerprints and they can be difficult to clean. From smudges and buildup to bacteria and germs, electronics endure a daily barrage of dirt and contaminants that sometimes can make us sick. Since most people don't think about regularly cleaning these devices, The Maids has created a very thorough cleaning checklist.

You use your phone while you’re eating, at work (gym, pool, playground, etc.), in the car and, even in the bathroom. Germs and bacteria can transfer from your hands to your smartphone and vice versa. Your phone is in contact with your face, ears, nose and sometimes even your lips. the most common infection gateways. The same bacteria and germs can end up on your laptop, gaming system and desktop keyboards and can keep rotating between devices.

Take Away: During this time of Covid19, it becomes even more important to keep our devices clean. Don't forget to clean and sanitize your device cases too! Get to it!
